As a designer, i wrote some game analysis. I had analyzed game loops, and how game ingredients are combined together. Here are the links to read them if you want. - Game Analysis about Super Mario Galaxy - Game Analysis about Crash Bandicoot - Game Analysis about Fire Emblem : Three Houses - Game Analysis about Furi - Creative Brief about the relationship system in Persona
Level Design and building
I have some experiences about using level editors in actual video games. For example, i have designed levels in Hotline Miami 2 that you can see below.
I wanted to develop my level building and Unreal Engine 4 skills, so I followed a tutorial about it and I am now trying to create my own scenes. Here the first scene on which I worked, using assets downloaded on internet.
I also had a level design class on which we had to create levels in the game "Heave Ho" . There isn't a level editor in the game, but we were given the Unity project by the game's developper. I created four levels that are based on an aerial play style. Here are some pics !
Other exercises
I also worked on design exercises : for example, here is a link to a simple exercise where i was asked to create a game concept about a hack'n'slash that is played by 3 players, and addressed to 10-14 years old girl.
Another exercise was to rethink starcraft II's gameplay by adding a new currency, and implementing a new 3v3 mode where you can play as "capitalist" or "communist" . Here is the creative brief on which i wrote this !
